Gators celebrate after win against Heritage

The Green Level Lacrosse team has made huge strides this season, going farther into the post-season than any other mens sports program in Green Level history. With a huge victory over the former 4-seed Heritage, the Gators move to the Elite 8 as a third-year program.

The game against the Heritage Huskies was extremely high-scoring from both sides, with the Gators being the underdog. In the first quarter, the Gators went down early with The Huskies taking a comfortable 3-0 lead within the first few minutes. The Gators didn’t let this stop them from fighting back, making the score at the end of the first quarter 4-5 with Heritage barely in the lead. In the second quarter, The Gators took over, putting up 6 goals while only allowing Heritage to score 2. After halftime, The Gators came out hungrier, wanting the win even more, having a shutout in the third quarter while scoring four of their own. In the fourth quarter, The Gators secured the win with a final score of 18-13, meaning Green Level moves on to round 4 of playoffs!

The top scorer for this game and MVP for the game was Austin Hryn who had 6 goals! As a sophomore, Austin has had an incredible season with 69 points. I asked Austin a few questions about the game and the playoffs.

Are you excited for the next round of playoffs and how do you think it will go?

Yes, I’m ecstatic and I think the next round will be a big challenge against a great team and we’re going to have to fire on all cylinders.

How do you feel you performed against Heritage and what led to that performance?

I performed well, I had a good pregame meal and I was dialed which ended up leading me to perform well
