The Green Level Women’s Golf team places first in SWAC! @g_l_wgolf

As we all could have expected, the Women’s Golf team has won the Conference this season. After placing 2nd behind Green Hope at the Conference Championship, they have clinched the Conference, placing them in Regionals.

This is only the 3rd time that any Green Level team has won the Conference and the first time that the Women’s Golf team has won.

Led by exceptional seasons by the teams top 5 who all qualified for Regionals, the Lady Gators were led by Maddy Linares, Lauren Eggers, Ava Heaton, Eliana Kim, and Niki Kale with scoring averages of 35.8, 38.8, 38.9, 39.3 and 45.9. In addition we also had 3 of the team’s members on the first and second team All-Conference. Maddy and Lauren both clinched 1st Team and Eliana clinched 2nd Team. On top of that, in his first year coaching for the Women’s Golf team, Coach Rogers was voted Coach of the Year!

I got to talk to Lauren about what it was like to win the conference and how she plans to attack this very important upcoming Regionals:
¨I plan to just stay calm and focus on my game. I know that if our team plays how we have been playing all season we can be one of the top teams to be playing at regionals. We just need to keep playing our game.¨

Next Monday, the girls will be heading down to Longleaf Golf & Family Club to take on Regionals and hopefully secure them a spot in the 2022 4A State Championship. Good luck ladies and Go Gators!
