Jeremy Renner Critically Injured in Snowplow Accident

Jeremy Renner, known for his role as Clint Barton/Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, was run over by a 7-ton snow plow in Reno, Nevada, on Sunday morning. He was immediately hospitalized and by the end of the day, he was in critical but stable condition, according to his representative.

On Monday, he had surgery, and it was confirmed that he had suffered “blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries,” as released in a statement. He also remained in the ICU. According to a neighbor, the plowing machine ran over one of Renner’s legs, and he was losing a lot of blood. At the time, he had been trying to help a family member whose car had been buried in the snow. Renner was the only person involved in the accident and had to be airlifted to the nearest hospital at the time of the incident. He was vacationing at his home in the Tahoe area near Mount Rose.

Renner has played Hawkeye for more than 11 years and acts in more than six films and 2 television shows. He has also had roles in the Mission: Impossible movies and the Oscar-nominated films The Town and The Hurt Locker. Both of the latter films had Renner nominated for Best Actor.

Renner had since received many well-wishes from fans, his representative saying that he was “tremendously overwhelmed and appreciative of the outpouring of love and support from his fans.” The accident happened after Renner had shared many videos on his social media of him plowing the snow near his home, as well as how deep it was in the Tahoe area.

On January 3rd, he shared a photo on his Instagram account. The photo showed him in the hospital with a swollen eye and cut running down his face. The caption for the photo read, “Thank you all for your kind words. I’m too messed up now to type. But I send love to you all.” We send condolences to Renner and his family in hopes for a healthy recovery.
