Every year, the style of fashion that people wear changes. As the years are going by, it seems styles from multiple years ago start to repeat. As of 2025, we have been wearing styles from the 2000’s, like roll over pants, baggy outfits, and bump it headbands. Polka dots are also back in as everyone has been wearing them and getting them on their nails.
The rate of students changing their styles is different for everybody, but some students were quick to jump into this since they love 2000’s fashion.
Sophomore at Green Level High School, Alyssa Velazquez, thinks that this style is superior and should stay. She really likes styles like this for herself personally, and they can match personalities.
“I like that 2000’s styles are coming back because I think they fit my style personally, so they correlate very well with my personality.” Velazquez says.
As more and more of these trends are coming back, more students are joining in and dressing this way to fit in. Because of this, many stores all around are adding these styles onto their shelves so that they can make money. Popular brands like Brandy Melville, Hollister, and even basics like Target have been stocking up to get this style in their stores. They are stocking low rise jeans, and roll over pants everywhere. This low rise style is super popular for many people.
“I really love the low rise jeans and they are much more comfortable than high rise jeans that were recently trending since they don’t rub on your stomach” Velazaquez says.
Certain styles like these are super popular among a bunch of people and students that go here. Lots of teachers here, who have gone through this style years ago, most likely have their opinion on what styles they like from this time as well, as they have memories from when they wore it during their younger years.
Some people think that this style is here to stay while others think it will be another quick trend for all of us to quickly go through again just to change next month.
“I think that this style is here to stay, probably because with our generation, a lot of us just kind of keep the style going and then add to it.” Velazaquez says.
Maybe this style will stick around, or maybe in a month or two it will be something completely different. Who knows? Maybe something you like will be next.
