Senior, Ava Toppin commits to USNA to play Volleyball

Ava Toppin, a Senior, here at Green Level has verbally committed to play volleyball at the United States Naval Academy. Toppin holds the position as one of the Captains on our Women’s Volleyball team and is also a noticeable force on the attack.

USNA is a military service academy located in Annapolis, a little city in Maryland along the Chesapeake Bay. “It is absolutely beautiful and is filled with so many different opportunities, honors, and benefits”, Toppin states.

She goes on to explain her recruitment process, “My recruiting process began the summer going into my freshman year of high school. It was a stressful process as there were so many rules to follow and so many restrictions in place…I verbally committed a little over a year ago. It was the best feeling. To know where I’m going and to have the next chapter of my life planned out is pretty exciting.”

She will continue to prepare to play volleyball at the collegiate level by playing club volleyball for her 18s’ season on a competitive team and by continuing her weekly strength training.

The advice she gives student athletes for going into the recruitment process is,“Don’t get discouraged and don’t give up. There’s a right place for everyone and each player’s process is different. Find what is best for you, and always believe in yourself.”
