Winter sports are beginning to kick off this month. Swimming is beginning their tryouts November 1st through November 5th next week. This will be the first year that the team has all four grade levels. Last year was a great year, especially for the women’s team, however this year is expected to be even better with some new swimmers joining the team. Some more great news is that with COVID dying down, there are expected to be a lot more meets. In fact 5 meets have already been scheduled not including conference, regional, and state championships. Last year amidst the coronavirus outbreak Green Level was only able to have 3 meets.

I spoke with Matthew Erickson, a junior who was on the Green Level swim team since freshman year. He says “ I’m looking forward to this swim season because I think we have a real shot to make states and do well this year, which is an opportunity we haven’t really had in the past. I’m also excited for the team spirit which we were able to show a lot during my freshman year but not as much last year due to COVID.” It sounds like we are in for something great this season, best of luck gators!
