Yesterday at 2:15 PM, Taylor Swift posted an Instagram story and surprised fans and said that she would release 4 songs at midnight: 3 re-releases and 1 new song. “All Of The Girls You Loved Before,” “Eyes Open (Ft. Joy William and John Boy Music) (Taylor’s Version),” “Safe & Sound (Taylor’s Version),” and “If This Was A Movie (Taylor’s Version)” were released and back-dated to be released with the original albums they were supposed to be on– Lover, Red (Taylor’s Version), and Fearless (Taylor’s Version).

“All Of The Girls You Loved Before” was the only new original song, which was initially supposed to be on Swift’s seventh studio album, Lover, but ended up leaked a few weeks ago and going viral on Tik Tok. Some fans theorize that Swift leaked the song herself due to the quality of the leak, however, this hasn’t been confirmed. Fans can now listen to the song officially, and so far, the song has generated a ton of positive reviews.

The other three songs, “Eyes Open (Ft. Joy William and John Boy Music) (Taylor’s Version),” “Safe & Sound (Taylor’s Version),” and “If This Was A Movie (Taylor’s Version)” were sold with her original catalog for $300 million, so Swift re-recorded these songs and back-dated them to be on her versions of Fearless and Red respectively. One thing to note is that “If This Was A Movie (Taylor’s Version)” was back-dated to be put on Fearless (Taylor’s Version), however, the original version of “If This Was A Movie” was put on the deluxe version of Speak Now, which has sparked fans speculating that she will release Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) next.

Taylor released these songs in celebration of the start of The Eras Tour, which kicks off tonight in Glendale, Arizona, which has been renamed to “Swift City” to commence the beginning of her tour, which is projected to make $620 million in the U.S. alone. We recommend you listen to these songs and send your favorite one!
