Womens Tennis Secures First Ever Victory over Panther Creek
After weather issues on Monday afternoon, the match between SWAC number two Panther Creek Catamounts and your Green Level Gators had to be moved to Tuesday afternoon.
The weather delay did not faze the Gators revenge tour on the Catamounts. After losing 5-4 in early September, the Gators wanted to take back the victory and extend their streak to 5 straight matches. The Gators secured an early 2-1 lead by winning two out of three doubles matches. Once they gained the lead, they had no intention of giving it up. They ended the afternoon by splitting the singles matches and securing a 5-3 victory over the Catamounts to secure their first Women’s tennis victory over Panther Creek in school history.
The Gators Eye talked with Sophomore Ariana Mohan who said, “I am very proud of the girls’ effort in all of their matches, win or lose. On Wednesday, we will fight for our seniors to secure a big win on Senior Night to try and take first place in the SWAC!” Gators are back in action today against Green Hope at home on Senior Night.
