Can’t find your homework? Forgot the due date? Are your socks mismatched? Everyone has those days, but ensuring they don’t happen daily is extremely important.
Being organized looks different for everybody, so how do you determine what works for you? Following these tips and listening to what fellow students do, can help you improve your organization skills.
Sumitra Senapati, a Green Level Student Council member, has excellent organizational skills. She says “I track everything down, so I know where everything is and when I need it.”
When Sumi is prepared for school she feels better going about her day. She balances dance, student council, and all of her AP classes. To monitor her work she says, “I use my notes app to write down all my assignments I need to do.”
Before going to bed, “I check to make sure I didn’t forget to do an assignment. I also look at all of the deadlines, so I’m prepared ahead of time.” claims Sumitra.
With a routine like this, you will surely be on top of your assignments and classes. Having a scheduled routine can also help you mentally. Your mind will know you did everything it was supposed to, leaving you less stressed.
Here are a couple of other ways to stay on top of your schoolwork:
Planner: Planners might be perfect if you’re more of a physical learner. As soon as you get assignments, you write them down. Later, you can check off everything you need to do.
Calendar: Putting things to do in a calendar can help you get a general idea of how busy you are during that month. It also helps you plan events easier since you know when you’re free.
Reminder App: Reminders are easily accessible if you have an iPhone. If you want to quickly remember to do something but don’t have a pen and paper, or maybe get busy and forget, you can always use your phone. It notifies you when you schedule something, and can last for any amount of time you want it to.
