As you may know, many people enjoy getting fun drinks that keep them awake during the day and here in Cary, North Carolina the major ones are Starbucks and Dunkin. In December of 2025 right before winter break, Dutch Bros opened up and now everybody can’t stop talking about it. So what’s the difference between Dutch Bros and the other places and what’s the hype about?
Dutch Bros is a coffee shop in Park West which is extremely close to the Green Level area. Dutch Bros had originally gone viral on tiktok and now that one was built right near the school, obviously everybody is going to go there and talk about it. Dutch Bros has every possible drink you could imagine between dirty sodas, refreshers, shakes, coffees, teas, energy drinks, and literally everything. Their shop is filled with tons of different syrups to make their drinks as you can see from outside of the shop and people love going there because they have so many options.
There are a couple reasons why Dutch Bros has been blowing up. First of all, not only do they have a drive-thru but they also have a walk up window so you can choose whichever line is the shortest. Also they have tons of more options than a regular Dunkin or Starbucks would and basically every possible flavor combination that there is. They also have larger sizes for cheaper prices which attracts way more customers than a typical coffee shop would.
Junior Cameron Barnett goes to Dutch Bros a lot and originally first saw the hype on tiktok. When she saw that there was one opening up only a couple minutes away she was overjoyed.
“I love Dutch Bros and I feel like it is way better than any coffee store because they have so many more options and I can basically get whatever I come up with.” She says.
If you could create any flavor combination, they most definitely would have it in their secret menu. On the app, under almost all of the different kinds of drinks, there is a secret menu where they have so many different flavor combos with fun names like White Zombie, or Double Rainbro, and things of that matter.
Sophomore Alyssa Velez Velasquez also loves Dutch Bros and likes to go before her practices. She has been multiple times and tried different things, but ended up finding a drink that really stood out to her.
“I like to get the soda with blue raspberry coconut and vanilla syrup along with soft top and I feel like it pairs really well together and is such a good drink. Don’t mix it though or else it might explode on you because it’s such a unique combination between carbonation and dairy.” She says.
The Dutch Bros that just opened up near us is the only one in all of North Carolina so everybody is going to drive there, up to a couple hours just so that they can try the hype they see on TikTok. Overall, lots of people love it because it has many benefits that other places don’t have and it’s very unique and there’s not a lot of other places like it.
