The Unified Club at Green Level is creating a positive and welcoming environment for students through creativity and connection. Meeting weekly, the club focuses on helping special needs students enjoy fun, hands-on activities.
The club meets every Friday during Connectivity in the cafeteria, where members and volunteers come together to work on crafts with special needs students. Activities vary each week and can include coloring pages and assembling crafts
Sophomores Grace Johnson and Kaitlyn Steward, presidents of the club, help lead these weekly meetings and create a supportive space for everyone involved.
Club members assist students with each step of the activity, making sure everyone is included and able to participate.
“For example, they might color something and then we help them cut and glue it depending on the task,” Johnson explained.
One of the main goals of Unified Club is to create meaningful interactions and a sense of community. “We want to give the kids a chance for human interaction,” Johnson said.
The club also focuses on bringing positivity to students’ days through simple but meaningful moments.
“We love to bring smiles to the kids’ faces and overall just bring 30 minutes of joy to their days!” she added.
Unified Club is open to anyone who wants to join and make a difference. Students interested in participating can sign up through AllTimely!
By combining creativity, kindness, and connection, Unified Club continues to make a lasting impact on the Green Level community every week.
