Bella Cathell Signs Scholarship for Stunt

Sr. Bella Cathell has become the first athlete in Wake County to sign a stunt scholarship.

She will be attending St. Mary’s University this upcoming fall, as she furthers her athletic career. The St. Mary Stunt team competed in the Stunt National Championship this past season, with it being their first appearance.

With Stunt just recently being added as a high school sport in Wake County, the popularity and participation is projected to grow exponentially in the upcoming years.

Cathell has been a member of our Stunt program since the very beginning and has had a significant impact on the overall success of the team.

Bella started doing competitive cheer 12 years ago, but she joined Green Level for Stunt her freshman year. Her first full season was her junior year due to Covid.

“I am really proud of her, she is a pioneer in the sport and a really good example of the female athletes in the state… I am excited for her to move on but I will miss her so much because she has been an integral part of the cheer and stunt programs, but I am very proud of her successes and I know she will be very successful with whatever she does,” Mack says.

The Green Level Stunt team won the 2022 Stunt Championship and remained undefeated until a heartbreaking loss versus Corinth Holders on Wednesday, May 10th in the 2023 Championships hosted here at Green Level.

“I think we had a really strong year overall, we grew as a team, the final result didn’t turn out the way we wanted, but I think we had a better season in terms of how we grew and how we changed. The teams we beat that were a struggle last year, we beat with ease. This makes us 2x conference champions,” Mack says.
