The end of the 25-26 school year is finally approaching, and everyone knows what that means…… Prom! Prom is a formal event towards the end of the school year, where juniors and seniors ask friends or dates to be their plus one for the event. Students dress up in long dresses and suits, and go hang out with their friends to have a fun and relaxing night!
This year, prom is on Friday, April 24th and it is located at the Embassy Suites in Cary. The event starts at 8:00 PM, so students can start off their weekend with a great time! Many students choose to actually go to prom, many spend the night taking pictures, and just going out to dinner. Depending on who is in the prom group, students can choose what they would rather do.
Each year, a different theme is chosen, and for this year it is A Night on Mount Olympus. Basically, it is similar to greek and super fancy so that the students have lots of fun. Tickets are available on GoFan and they are $79.75 per person for standard tickets and $53.50 for discounted tickets.
Junior Tarini Vakada is going to prom, and her group have set plans for the evening.
“I am super excited for prom since it is my first year that I can go! We are planning to hang out and take pictures at Duke Gardens and take some pictures, and just have a fun night!” Vakada says
Another super popular thing to do with prom is to combine groups with others. A group typically has a ton of people in it because everyone likes to join in and have a bunch of people so that their pictures turn out good and so everyone can hang out with each other.
Senior Kayla Donnelly and her group are planning to do the exact same thing, also planning on taking pictures at Duke Gardens. However, after that things are different.
“My friends and I are combining groups and going to Duke Gardens for pictures since there are a ton of nice sections, and then we are going to hibachi and Khan Ki for dinner. We are planning to go straight to the actual prom after dinner, and then hang out with everybody!” Donnelly says.
