Regional Recap: Maddy and Ava to States
Maddie Linares and Ava Heaton competed in the Regionals Women’s Golf Tournament.
On October 19th, 2021, the Green Level Women’s golf team played their Regional Playoff at Longleaf Golf Club just outside of Pinehurst, NC.
Representatives of Green Level included Maddy Linares, Ava Heaton, Lauren Eggers, Graycen Horne, and senior Keerthana Vemperala.
3 teams and 17 individuals were to qualify for the State Championships at Pinehurst #5 next week.
Although the team was unable to make it through, Maddy Linares and Ava Heaton both qualified as individuals and will make the trip to Pinehurst next week.
We got to talk to Maddy Linares, who will be making her second state championship appearance in the same year, after coming off a Top 10 finish at Pinehurst #1 in the spring.
“I am very, very excited going into states because I have worked hard throughout the season to get to this final step. There are still some aspects of my game that I need to work on and will continue to work on these over the next 5 days, but I will be ready!”
