What’s Happening with Iran?

As promised, Iran has retaliated against America, but where the tensions will go from here is still uncertain. Some people even believe President Trump’s decision to bomb the leader of Iran was an intentional distraction from the impeachment. What’s true and what’s not? We’re back with another recurring feature covering the details of our tension with Iran right here on The Gators Eye. Make sure you’ve read our recent article, “No, You’re Not Getting Drafted For WWIII.”

According to CBS News, Iran fired missiles at our bases in Iraq late on Tuesday night. Wednesday morning, no one was able to tell if anyone had been injured or if there were any fatalities as a result of the event. However, President Trump assured Americans that everything was alright, tweeting “All is well! Missiles launched from Iran at two military bases located in Iraq. Assessment of casualties & damages taking place now. So far, so good! We have the most powerful and well equipped military anywhere in the world, by far! I will be making a statement tomorrow morning.”

The President’s statement ultimately suggested that tensions were decreasing, as it seems that the missile attacks resulted in no casualties. Of course, the tension could still rise in the aftermath of an Iranian attack characterized by leaders as a “slap in the face,” but what will happen next? Make sure to tune back into The Gator’s Eye when we have more news on this topic!
