Green Level took on the Athens Drive Jaguars at the Swamp last night, in their second game of the season. The gators were coming off their first win against Research Triangle, but were in for a tougher game this time around. Athens Drive had just come off two consecutive wins versus Green Hope and Willow Springs. The gator defense was strong in the first half of action, despite getting into some foul trouble. With a lot of trips to the line, Athens Drive took the first half 19-14 in a defensive battle.

In the second half, Green Level had their foot on the accelerator the entire 16 minutes. Athens Drive was led by number 24, Elijah Harris, who was a dominant force in the paint and was one of the main reasons why the Gators couldn’t quite make a comeback. Isaac Erickson, a star freshman for the gators led the late-game surge by scoring double-digit points in the second half. As the clock hit triple 0’s the game ended with a score of 54-33 in favor of the Jaguars.

The Gators will look to bounce back on Friday when they take on Willow Springs.
