Committed: Joshua Murray to Otterbein University

Swamp Life & Soccer Star Slides into Signing Day

Senior, Joshua Murray has signed to further his athletic and academic career at Otterbein University.

Otterbein University is located in Westerville, Ohio. When asked about why he chose Otterbein he said, “I really love the coaches at Otterbein and can’t wait to be taken under their wing for the next four years. When I went on my visit I noticed that the culture of the team was amazing and something I wanted to be apart of.” To add on to this he also mentioned that he could see himself having an amazing time on this team and a chance to compete for a national championship over the next four years. He’s happy to have the stress of the recruiting process behind him and to finally start getting more involved with the program.

I asked Josh to talk a little bit about his recruitment process and here’s what he said:

“I started my recruitment process a little later than most, however I knew I wanted to go to school in Ohio so I started talking to some schools there. I took a couple visits to schools in Ohio and after the visits and talking to the coaches I decided that Otterbein would be the best fit for me.”

Josh has played on the Men’s Soccer team here at Green Level for three years now and the chemistry that the team built here was something he loved and looked for when pursuing to play at the next level. Josh said, “The Gators always had a winning mentality and strived on playing as a team to win, that’s what really stood out to me with the connection with Otterbein.” He will continue to work hard to prepare himself for the next level competition. For Josh this includes weight lifting because the juniors and seniors he will be going up against will be physically stronger than him.

Congrats to Josh and we are wishing him the best of luck in his journey as he prepares to play at Otterbein!
