The Green Level Cheer Team delivered a strong performance at the Quad City 7 Championship on Thursday, December 18th, claiming the inaugural conference championship. The Gators are back-to-back champions, with the final SWAC win, and the first QC7.
This years’ competition was held on our home court at The Swamp, providing these athletes with a strong surge of energy. After months of conditioning, long practices, and fine-tuning every count, the Gators took the mat with confidence, and showcased their best routine of the season yet.
The Gators only won by 1.3 points, proving how sharp the competition was this year. Following Green Level was Willow Spring, then Apex, with Green Hope and Panther Creek claiming the last spots.
Head Coach Samantha Sopko praised the team’s commitment and growth over the season.
“This conference win is the result of their hard work and belief in each other,” Sopko stated. “They showed up every single practice ready to improve, and they truly earned this moment and this title.”
Team leadership also played a crucial role in this victory. Sophomore team captain Anna Lee emphasized the unity behind the win.
“We pushed each other all season and never gave up on our goals. Even with hard practices, nobody lost faith in each other. Winning this championship, especially for the second year in a row means everything to us,” said Lee.
The conference title stands as a powerful moment for the entire Green Level school community, reflecting the dedication, resilience, and talent within the cheer program. Backed by the unwavering support of coaches, families, and fans, the team met the pressure head on, and delivered a strong performance when it mattered the most.
Being crowned the first Quad City 7 Conference Champions, the cheer team has cemented its place into school history. They have four competitions in their season left, adding new pieces to their routine everyday in order to prepare for the contenders ahead.
